In the heart of France we invite you to get to know the real life of the "great nation" away from the large cities and tourist resorts. Our destination: Vichy, a small town of around 40,000 inhabitants in the Auvergne region.

Despite its size Vichy is renowned throughout France: with nature's hot springs and effervescent thermal baths, everything here is dedicated to relaxation. The "green city " has attractions not only for those sampling the healing waters but also offers younger visitors a wide range of sport and culture: tennis, golf, jogging, canoeing, rafting, swimming, athletics, an extensive city library, the opera and the casino.

If at sometime you want to get away from the beautiful tranquility, it's no problem: the capital city region, Clermont-Ferrard, is just 30 minutes by train, Lyon is 2 hours away and Paris can be reached in 3 hours.

Finally, it is quick and easy to make contact with the locals and after just a few days' stay you'll be greeted with a friendly "bonjour" in the market and shops.

Our School

Our Vis-à-Vis partner school in Vichy can look back on 30 year's experience of teaching French as a foreign language. It was founded by the city of Vichy in co-operation with the university of Clermont-Ferrard. The school buildings are located in the centre of the town and as well as modern classrooms there are also language laboratories, an audio visual media room, a cafeteria and a common room.
