AccommodationStudent Flat | Host Family | Student Residence | Aparthotel | Back to topAccommodation is a very important part of your stay and therefore Vis-à-Vis has taken this aspect of school selection very seriously. We can take many of your personal preferences into account (vegetarian, allergies etc.), provided you enrol sufficently early. Below you will find a description of the different types of accommodation. Remember that Vis-à-Vis schools vary in what accommodation they can offer so please consult our destinations for further details.
In a student flat you share a house or floor with other students of the school. You can choose between a single and a double room. You share the kitchen and the bathroom and you and your fellow students are responsible for keeping the place clean. All kitchen utensils are provided for. The student flats are basically decorated, so don't expect too much luxury. Of course, all amenities will be available. A student flat is a good choice if you want to mingle amongst young people and if you like to live in a relaxed atmosphere with fellow students from all over the world. Host FamilyStudent Flat | Host Family | Student Residence | Aparthotel | Back to topMost schools offer the possibility to stay with a French family. You can opt for a single or a double room, with breakfast or half board. The main advantage of a host family is obvious: to speak as much French as possible outside the lessons, for example durring meal times. On the day of arrival you will be given your own set of keys so you can come and go as you please. However, do bear in mind that you have to adjust to the house rules. Just as in a student flat, don't expect too much luxury when staying with a host family. On the other hand, you can expect plenty of social contact and a healthy dose of French culture. Staying with a family is by far the best choice if you want to learn as much French in the shortest time possible and if you, 'en passant', would like to learn more about the French culture and way of life. Student ResidenceStudent Flat | Host Family | Student Residence | Aparthotel | Back to topSome schools offer accommodation in a residence which will be located near or on the school campus. Compare it with a student flat. In a residence, however, you share the common areas with more fellow students than in a student flat. You can choose between a single or a double room. Again, do not expect too much luxury, although all the basic necessities are catered for. Staying in a school residence equals living in an international, dynamic and sometimes hectic environment. This type of accommodation is particularly suited for the younger students. AparthotelStudent Flat | Host Family | Student Residence | Aparthotel | Back to topSome schools offer accommodation in aparthotels. These are a good alternative to hotels and offer you a fully equipped studio with private bathroom and kitchen. They are excellent value for money and are very popular with students who are looking for accommodation of a higher quality than that of the student residences.
